Mega Menu Enhancements
Navigation remains a key component of the Astroid Framework. In version 3.3.12, the Mega Menu system has been enhanced with additional animation options and configuration settings to provide more flexibility in menu presentation.
New Mega Menu Dropdown Effects
Several new animation effects have been added, allowing administrators to customize the dropdown behavior to better match their website’s design and user experience.
Available animation styles include:
-
Fade
-
Zoom
-
Slide
-
Drop
-
Flip
-
ScaleY
-
Blur-in
-
Slide-scale
-
None
These options allow developers to create smoother and more visually engaging navigation interactions.
Mega Menu Backdrop Option
A new configuration option has been introduced to enable or disable the Mega Menu backdrop. This allows administrators to control whether a visual overlay appears behind the dropdown menu, improving focus and visual separation from the rest of the page.
Improved Hover Detection on Hybrid Devices
Interaction handling has been refined for devices that support both touch and mouse input (such as touch-enabled laptops). These improvements ensure more reliable hover detection and smoother Mega Menu interactions across different device types.
Instant Menu Display When Animation is Disabled
Previously, a stagger effect could still occur even when animations were disabled. This behavior has now been corrected. When the animation option is set to “None”, the Mega Menu will now appear instantly without any transition delay.
Bug Fixes
The following issues have been resolved in this release:
-
Mega Menu Width Reset Issue
Fixed an issue where the Mega Menu width could reset unexpectedly in certain layout configurations. -
Video Background Initialization Issue
Fixed a problem with the video background script that prevented background videos from initializing correctly. - Removed stagger effect when animation is set to none
Improved animation behavior by ensuring that the stagger delay effect is no longer applied when the animation option is set to None, resulting in cleaner and more predictable menu interactions.
